As you look at this years PFCL you notice two things. One, it is in your hands and not on the internet. Two, the title is Christmas Miracle. Miracle one, we decided this year that we wanted to kick it old school, as the kids say. There is something about holding the letter in your hands
as opposed to reading it off a screen(okay, this is the internet, just play along). Also, it is a miracle you are even getting it, because again, Chris put it off until the last second. It‘s a miracle he remembers his name half the time. We apologize if you have received it a bit late.
Number two is a bit more of a story. We have been kinda busy. We moved from Edmonton to Regina and there were plenty of miracles along the way to get us here. Donna seeing the job opening, getting the interview days later, selling our house in less than 48 hours, AND selling it at the very, very, peak of the
market. We sold it to the neighbor across the alley’s brother, as Chris took out the garbage. Miracle. If any of you have moved a family of four you know that it is a miracle just to get everything in boxes and on a truck, let alone sorting it all out on the other end. Donna kept saying that it is a miracle that all of Chris’ junk fit in one truck. Chris knew it would all fit in one, but we would need another one for everything else.
Donna accepted a position with the Prairie Valley School Division here in her hometown. She is loving all the new challenges and being closer to family on both sides. She REALLY enjoys being mistaken for Debbie everywhere we go. Uh, yeah, she loves that. McKenna and Dakota
are looking forward to spending a lot more QT with the grandparents and her cousins. We have already planned a ‘week with MiMi and PaPa’ for McKenna this summer. Whoooooooo kid vacation!!!!
Speaking of McKenna, she started school this year and already has all the boys chasing her as well cornering the playground black market Funyun trade. Chris is not happy about the boy thing but very proud of her for selling the Funyuns. She is really smart, which is, again, another miracle because she has a lot of Chris’ genes. She also had her picture taken with the Grey Cup,
which the Peterson’s helped the ‘Riders win. You see, every city we move to, their team, or teams, win championships. True fact, look it up. We dare you. The whole family went down to Albert Street and celebrated with the rest of the city. It was a treat seeing McKenna and Donna high fiving all the party goers celebrating the big win. Chris wanted to turn over some cars and burn something but Donna said we don’t do that here. Wha?
Dakota had her first birthday this year and has recently taken up walking. Which keeps us running. Somehow that did not work out quite right for us. She is also starting her domination of the
English language. Our little baby is growing up fast and every day she does something to amaze and amuse us. She truly is a miracle in our lives.
Chris is working casual for the CBC and loves it. For the first time in his career he is not the oldest
guy in the shop OR training reporters. Miracle. Speaking of old, Chris is turning 40 this year. Of course he still has managed to not grown up. The miracle here is that Donna still puts up with him. Working casual for the CBC allows him to take care of the kids, the house, AND catch up on his soaps. Believe it or not the house is still standing. HUGE Miracle.
So to wrap this miracle letter up we would like to say that from our family to yours we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you are ever in Saskatchewan please stop by and see us. Our home is always open to our friends.
